The most common metalworking operation is cutting sheet metal to size. The simplest and most productive method is guillotine metal cutting.
This method makes it possible to cut thick metal accurately in either the longitudinal or transverse direction without compromising the strength of the finished parts. Guillotine cutting is also considerably less expensive than other popular sheet-metal cutting methods, such as laser or plasma cutting.
