Every year, the number of products using composite rebar continues to grow. Areas that previously had no alternative to steel bars are now switching to composite rebar, which is more advantageous in every respect.
One such area is the production of lighting poles. It is developing actively through federal programs to modernize and expand urban and rural lighting networks. Today we show how composite rebar has replaced steel in manufacturing these products.
For this purpose, our employees visited a precast-concrete plant in August, where they observed the production of lighting poles using GFRP rebar manufactured by our company and spoke with the plant management.
According to the plant management, confidence in GFRP rebar has increased significantly in recent years. Many sectors that were once skeptical about new types of reinforcement now use them actively. The precast-concrete plant is no exception. The main reasons given for using GFRP rebar were:
- Lower product cost,
- Increased strength,
- Reduced finished-product weight,
- Full compliance of the finished product with applicable standards.
During the visit, our director recorded a video showing the finished products and explaining how composite rebar is used to manufacture lighting poles.
